I see Ms. Johnson still has the senior exception on her tax bill and she isn't 65+ that is fraud so if she cheats on her tax bill she will on other things too.

Give me a break about Annette Johnson. I attended a meeting several months ago with herself, Dave Ricketts (tax collector), Chris Lawson, and Davis Offitt to name a few.

This topic was discussed in that Johnson explained how she had to write a letter and the Tax office at the county does not have computers that communicate with the Kane county clerks office. Appartently you have to write a letter to get this removed. Everyone laughed at writing a letter, no form, no computers that just take it off once a person dies.

I think this blog needs to focus on dropping home values, and other government issues not just the East Aurora School Board.

I am happy with the management at EA. The City of Aurora is another story.

I have a neighbor that called and asked a question about his son moving in with him and he has a senior discount and they told him that he could not claim it since his son moved in and they also billed it him shortly after. So Annette call the tax assessor and let them know your mother as passed. This has been two years now so they should of got the letter.

They shouldn't have gotten that one tax break anyway since you can't have a income of more than $40,000 and we have how much she makes.

Yes, we have many problems and part of the value of the homes going down is because of all the foreclosures and the city didn't do that.

Anyone see the band and choir concerts? What were your thoughts on them? I'd like to know.

I went to the band and choir concerts at Simmons last Thursday and was impressed, especially with the sixth grade band (okay, I'm biased...my grandson's in that group). The new choir director, Mr. Staker, seems to be doing a good job as well. All in all, a very enjoyable performance from these young musicians!

I'm a band alum from the 90s, and I wanted to go to the EAHS concert last Thursday night but couldn't, had a family situation to deal with :(

Sometimes they put a youtube or other recording online, anybody know where to find it?

Alumni, you can go here to hear a recording of last Thursday's performances:

http://www.d131music.org/401/login.php?redirect=/concert-recordings2.html

But, you'll need a PASSWORD(!?)

Evidently recordings of public performances are now classified information, available only to authorized insiders.
