"I do believe this blog contributes to many peope stepping up and running."

Maybe 12:52, but I believe this blog contributes to even more people saying "no way I'm going to subject myself to the kind of criticism and bashing I'm going to get no matter what I do" and they DON'T run. I'm sure there's been some potentially outstanding board members who have not run, at least partly because of this blog.

They must be bad employees or the school district would not be ranked last. Strand and Montrose will never make tough cuts they are their Freinds.

it shows Scott Strand tells everyone what a wonderful educator Aird is. really a transgender doll. Has she not done enought damage

I believe we have some "potentially outstanding board members" who are stepping up. Sadly, incumbents who feel threatened keep taking issue, to detract from all the positive things the other candidates have done for our students before they were ever considering running for the Board. Without an agenda and without concern for recognition but because they cared about D131 children.

What types of Websites had Dr Aird visited to buy something like that . The entire room though it to be in poor taste. She was the only one laughing. She also has no respect for the community she works in. Her fellow admins never got over the fact she never came to meeting that the audience was against her.

The board should know principals are being targeted who have moral character and did not attend her pro Aird meetings. More to follow on this topic.

To the comment above Strand and Montroy have not conducted themselves in a manner that shows they would be good board members.

They have not articulated what they will do to chance 131.

Calling the current board names like they have no Integrity will only lead to current members and themselves not being able to work as a team. School board elections in this town have not been negative in the past.

Montroy speaking at the meeting giving a political speech also shows his lack of character. The current members can not respond and so it becomes show boating.

They do represent a conflict of interest by spouses working in the district.

Kristen would have been better served to help our community by running for Alderman. I spoke with her about before filings and its sad she picked the wrong office.

Zack is a newcomer who does not act very Christain like and I feel is hurting Kristen .

Dr Aird has become self motivated the last couple of years. She has made it very clear to staff that she would be a far better leader than Dr Roberts and has stated Tge district has no vision.

She dies not ake others ideas, she dies ask but then always does her own version. I will defend Ms Childress, in that my working with her have resulted in good communication and many times embracing our ideas, or if not, she will give a reason why.

Deanne Sdams was another poor choice that did not seem to get anything done. At first, many thought she was being held back. Two years of a descion making role have produced nothing.

I do work at a building Dr Aird is targeting. The principal I work with works very hard and attends many community events. Aird has blamed he board but we know otherwise.

Bring a transgender doll to work as a gag gift is the last straw. Many community members expressed grave concerns about the plicy she brought forward. I heard the board members appollogize, but Dr Aird never did to the community she serves.

She is very confident lately that the board will change hands and it will be business as usual. That is a major mistake, I feel the staff needs to us the input committees and town hall meetings as our voice. I feel we only have ourselves to blame.

I will also say, I talked with Ms Johndon for the first time and she had a good grasp of the problems in our buildings and reasons why or what they are doing to correct it. I also emailed Dr Roberts, and received a very nice email explaining why some Curiculum decisions got made.

I suggest we communicate with our leaders more

What is with all the calls about the alderman at large race? Who is going to vote for some guy who wants to be in office another four years to make it 32!!!!!! You have got to be kidding. Right? I almost fell off my chair when they asked about this guy being in office that long. What the!@?! No wonder Aurora cannot move forward with people like that in office.

what about all the recent developments aty East High? not one word?

Let's see...

Can I find one reason why I should send my child to a District 131 school?

ummmm.........no

Any test results available for the Magnet school yet? Why are we funding a school that has no testing results for the taxpayers to see?

Anonymous said...

Why do you morons keep asking the same stupid questions.

THE TEST RESULTS FOR THE MAGNET ACADEMY GET COMBINED WITH THE STUDENTS HOME SCHOOL.

You might not like that answer, but that IS THE ANSWER. If you want that answer to change then GO TO A SCHOOL BOARD MEETING.

Come see & hear the second annual Music from the Movies concert this Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the EHS Auditorium! Last year's performance was very enjoyable, and appropriate for the whole family. Images from movies are projected as the bands play selections from that film. Support the arts in our district!

Yeah, so break them out to show how the magnet program is performing. Really, how hard is it? How then do they track how a certain group of students are perfoming in a particular grade under a particular teacher? How do they know how well the magnet program is performing? Here is an idea. Take a deep breath admin over at East, but get a list of all the students that are in the program. Then, get their scores from the state tests, following so far? Then add up those scores and compare them to the state and other district schools. Whewwww I know tough stuff, but boy I bet if enough of the administrators put their heads together and the pricipal over at the magnet academy helps out they just might be able to do it. OMG!!!!!

They always do a break out of the Magnet School it's with all the test scores but you need to read all the pages. It's there just look. Last year 100% of the kids met and exceeded. Imagine what parental involvement does.

They combine them about September .

How are Montroy and Strand suppose to chance D131?

Anonymous said...

There is no reason that the students test scorew cannot be shown for their home schoo and the Magnet school.

TOMORROW IS ELECTION DAY
RETAIN THE CURRENT SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS AND ALLOW THEM TO CONTINUE THE JOURNEY OF CLEANING UP THE CORRUPTION AND WASTE IN THE DISTRICT AND FUNNEL THAT MONEY INTO WHERE IT BELONGS--EDUCATING THE CHILDREN IN THE DISTRICT..ALLOWING THEM TO CONTINUE THERE MISSION. THEY CAN DO THIS WITHOUT RAISING TAXES IN THE DISTRICT WHICH WOULD BE A BURDEN TO ME AND MANY THAT LIVE IN DISTRICT 131GOOD LUCK TOMOOROW TO JOHNSON, LEONARD, GONZALEZ AND DUERMIT!!!!!

Too much money being invested in the campaign of Strand and Montroy---something fishy going on. Are they making promises to their supporters?
Again keep in mind that their presence on the school board would be a conflict of interest for them in many areas that need to be voted on by the school board based on the fact that they both have spouses who are employees in the district. Why start out with a deficit in the ability to vote on matter from the start?
