I have been fortunate to find an East Aurora resident to agree to monitor the blog in my absence. This person has been in district 131 for 25 years and has had children attend East Aurora schools.
The posts & deletions will be at the discretion of the new co-administrator of the EA131 blog.
!!!!!SIMMONS SUCKS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to read that you found someone.
ReplyDeleteYeah, let's keep this embarrassment to the district going.
ReplyDelete:)
I can't believe this story wasn't on the news. This blog being such a big deal and everything.
ReplyDeleteThe embarrassment lies with the administration and board who make so many poor decisions, not with community members who come to this blog to share, and many times, to vent.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing said here that isn't already being said in the community and in the schools. If you find it embarrassing, fix the problem, don't shoot the messengers.
I can't shoot the messenger - you are all anonymous.
ReplyDeleteThis is an embarrassment because things are made to look way worse then they actually are. Words are twisted, people are slandered, reputations are destroyed, students are bullied. How is any of that good.
Even if some "truth" has come out. Does the good outweigh the bad, not a chance. This blog does 10 times more damage than good.
These items are as the community perceives them. Just because they may be worse than you see them doesn't mean that they are worse than they are.
ReplyDeleteIt's not slander when it's true.
The students that you are so worried about have made plenty of their own comments on here and have made their own attacks. When you do these things, you leave leave yourself open to criticism. They are tougher than you give them credit for.
There is discourse in any democracy. And YES it far outweights any negatives to have the truth come out.
How do you know what is "True?" Exaggerations and lies run rampant here. You don't know the truth, you don't want to know the truth, you can't handle the truth.
ReplyDeleteThe flag girls that were called "sluts" don't post here.
Rudy did no ask for people to bash his sexuality (sexuality has nothing to do with intelligence, or test scores, or bettering the school)
Rayanne only made the story up that another she was quitting the blog. She wanted everyone to beg her to keep it. When that when she got a few angry people to ask her to keep it that was good enough.
ReplyDeleteHer blog is much like her time on the Board it amounts to nothing. If she really has the school and community at heart she claims to she would have stopped the blog.
So you are saying that any blog that may say bad things about people should be shut down? How about openlineblog? Some who post on here and that one who uses very bad language are you going over the openline and telling them to shut down? I don't believe that it is someone who usually post on here is the one using bad language it is someone from the school district that wants to shut this down and they go way beyond what other people have said on here.
ReplyDeleteGod you suck at making a point.
ReplyDeleteI've posted a few of the "truths" on here and always strive to be as accurate as possible. These are things I've seen with my own eyes and still people come on here and say you are exaggerating or lying.
ReplyDeleteJust because you don't want to believe it or are embarrassed by the facts, it doesn't mean someone is lying.
Just because you don't like the outcome does not mean it is the truth.
ReplyDeleteIt goes both ways.
Hey, how many kids were raped on January 26th?
ReplyDeleteWas it around 100 kids?
The number was 54. HA BLOG YOU WERE WRONG.
ReplyDeleteThose priests were slacking off.
ReplyDeleteWhere's your proof, 12:51?
ReplyDeleteSeveral times facts have been challenged here, and specific media sources have then been cited to prove those facts. Case in point: when Anita Lewis was called a "flip-flopper" about the band decision, the Beacon article with her exact words was posted here, setting the record straight.
So go ahead, 12:51, and give ANY supporting evidence for your claim.
We're waiting........

ReplyDeleteSomeone with more class than you, obviously.
ReplyDelete;)
the east aurora band sounded the best i'd heard in a long time at the tournament saturday. except for the fact that they began by chanting 'west you suck' two times during the game west was playing before the east game. i don't know where ea admin was but this should not have happened. oh, and boat choked on 2 key free throws during the game, but east eventually won.
ReplyDeleteThis is Rayanne's co-administrator--just wanted everyone to know that I'll be deleting any comments that include the F-bomb. If we can't make our point without gratuitous obscenities, it's not a point worth keeping on this forum.
ReplyDeleteThank you mommy for censoring us. Is it just the F-Bomb or will it be all seven of the bad words not allowed on childrens television???
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, this new admin is working hard. How long can this go on for
ReplyDeleteWell
ReplyDeleteShe did not like
TITS
either
So, who is this new administrator. Will they reveal themselves or hide behind "Anonymous said..."
ReplyDeleteSo is everyone preparing for the big blizzard that we might get? It has been a long time since we have had a lot of snow like that. Predictions are 16-26 inches. Remember if you work outside of the district you might want to make sure you have blankets, food and your cell phone charged in case you get stuck in the snow. The Weather station says it will start on Wednesday does the district have plans if the snow gets too deep on letting the children go? I remember the big snow of '68 what a mess.
ReplyDeleteWhy should the new administrator hid behind "Anonymous said you do.
ReplyDeleteThe question is:
ReplyDeleteWill Jerome be able to make a decision on whether or not to close the schools before 7 AM.
In the past, many teachers had already made the hazardous journey in a blizzard before Jerome could make up his mind.
Since Jerome lives two blocks from the Service Center it should not be a problem
ReplyDeleteThe snow for what they are saying now will not start heavy until midmorning so a 7am call is not needed since they could be wrong. Where true leadership shows is when it really hits and how it is handled.
ReplyDeleteAt least the district leadership is consistent.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that they can be wrong all the time, have a complete lack of support from the community, yet the superintendent makes considerably more money than the Govenor of Illinois. About $230,000 a year according to the district web site. Of course, with how quickly the district updates information on the web site, that's probably last years number.
I wonder how the school board can possibly justify Robert's huge salary.
Don't say NO COMMUNITY SUPPORT because of this blog. He has no BLOG support. There is a difference.
ReplyDeleteYes, there are 3 NE neighbors that sit on the board supporting him wholeheartedly.
ReplyDelete@ 4:26
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if you're aware but the E-W game is coming up and it's the biggest rivalry in the city so it's not too ridiculous that they began to chant that. I was at the game, and it wasn't the whole band just the hooligans in the back.

ReplyDeleteIn this politically correct world, blogs like this are about the only way we have of truely knowing what people are thinking.
Welcome to the real world, most people in this community think the administration of this district sucks.
Richest school District in Illinois that who is salary is justified.
ReplyDeleteLets not forget he has the support of the entire Board except Weaver.
Rayanne should have stayed on the Board then they could say 2 people did not support Jerome.
We also know all the posts that are negative are Rayanne's
She just was not getting enough attention
Fortunately, most people in this district are too ignorant to read or write, so they will be in power for a while.
ReplyDeleteRichest school District in Illinois that who is salary is justified.
ReplyDeleteIs this proper English? That who is salary is justified?
Blog Nazi was back deleting posts. Why don't you also delete the posts that don't make a bit of sense? Those offend me more than the "F" word because it demonstrates just how stupid most of the people here are.
ReplyDelete6:25 a.m., on YOUR blog you may delete whatever you don't like. Different people are offended by different things; evidently the "blog nazi" isn't offended by stupidity.
ReplyDeleteGood thing, too, because there's plenty of stupidity on display in our district. No surprise that some of it finds its way to this little corner of the Internet!
Saw this in the Beacon today:
ReplyDeleteThe Oswego School District, Oswego Police Department and the Kendall County state’s attorney’s office are sponsoring a program for parents about cyber bullying next week.
All parents are invited to the free program, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at Oswego East High School, 1525 Harvey Road, Oswego.
Superintendent Dan O’Donnell noted that half of the 17,000 students in the Oswego School District are girls — the gender most likely to be the target of cyber bullying.
“Please join me in helping protect our daughters, as well as our sons, from being bullied online,” O’Donnell said.
Visit oswego308.org.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This sounds like a wonderful program--and it's open to all parents in the area (not just Oswego). And Superintendent Dan O'Donnell deserves thanks for promoting and publicizing this. What a timely, pro-active idea, District 308!
Thanks, 7:53 a.m., for posting this! I work in Oswego, and probably will be able to go. And I might not have known about it except for this blog.
ReplyDeleteIf this is your main source of news then get a life. The poster said it was in the beacon, which means it was probably in the Oswego local paper as well and you go to the school district web site to find out.
ReplyDeleteCrediting "this blog" with you getting your news, is sad.
Most people get their news from several sources: newspapers, television, internet, etc.
ReplyDelete10:15 just happened to see information about Oswego's cyber-bullying prevention program mentioned on this blog. Would they have heard about it from another source? Maybe--but this is the kind of information that a lot of us like to be "over-informed" about.
What I noticed about the Beacon article was the way the D308 superintendent stepped up and spoke for himself. His comments were not filtered or censored through a designated spokesperson.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, here in our district every tiny bit of information released to the press has to go through Farrakhan's Disciple.
Funny Dan O'Donnell just put B2M in school district.
ReplyDeleteDan O'donnell is also the guy building a new school they have no students for.
Roberts is head & shoulders above this guy.
I don't think B2M is associated with D308 in any official capacity. Individual students may be members--but that's not the same as district involvement.
ReplyDeleteAnd Oswego is booming! Houses are being built, lots of new businesses are popping up along Rt. 34. New school buildings may be needed to accommodate all the growth.
Dan O'donnell and Clayton formed a joint program at Lion King. He does recognize B2M just like Rydland & Birkett in 204.
ReplyDeleteWhat do these three have in common they all want to make it look like they are providing programs for at risk students. They have a free program while d131 pays Martinez to do Clayton's job.
As far as Oswego booming that would be with Foreclosers. O'donnell is a good politician he bought the house the District built for the cost of materials after months of free rent.
I am not a fan of Roberts but I still have my job and he no master mind but he not a crook either. I am happy to work in d131
@704pm
ReplyDeleteI am aware the east west game is coming and am aware of the traditions and the rivalry. i am also aware it is not right for a group representing one school to be allowed to harrass the opposite school. i'm not saying it doesnt' happen in lots of schools, but usually an admin. is there to make sure it ends and does not reoccur. in my opinion i don't care if it was just 'the hooligans' or not. it was loud enough for you & i to hear, admin should have heard as well.
ReplyDeleteNo, don't get rid of B2M. Just make sure it's not part of the schools, any more than the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts are.
ReplyDeleteMarin Gonzalez confirmed that Boys II Men was illegal (at least until she was silenced).
ReplyDeleteThose who are politically connected tend to get away with all sorts of illegal crap (for a while) but it eventually catches up with them. Just look at our previous two Govenors.
It's getting to the point where all Illinois politicians are coming to serve two terms, one in office and one in prison.
What goes around, comes around. Eventually, everything catches up to you.
Then why is "Serial Bully" Radakovich getting a huge pension AND teaching at Aurora University? Seems like he's being richly rewarded for screwing our district.
ReplyDelete9:00 p.m., the key word is "eventually".
ReplyDelete8:54 said that eventually everything catches up to you. We just don't know when or how.
I read in the paper the kid who was shot was at the Urban League. Another great d131 program.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for Officer Rodriguez--it sounds like he had no other choice but to shoot the kid. Such a tragedy.
ReplyDeleteCopied from the Openline Blog
ReplyDeleteBoth school districts and Leisner have good reason to cover up the death of this child.
Here are the facts Leisner at one time to keep his gal pal in business would pay 100% of Alternative Education he city in to the Urban League. Recently he dropped the payment to $90,000 per district because of budget problems. Another words bait and switch. Of course residents would not know this because the money comes from Community in Schools run by none other than Theresa Shoemaker daughter of Arlene long time democrook. Community in Schools is the new Youth Department even though they are a Private Organization. Now the taxpayers have no accountability as to who gets paid. This is nothing more than a slush fund of Leisner's cronies.
A student attending Urban League and these are troubled students on the verge of dropping out or joining a gang basically sits in front of a computer the entire day receives no social worker, no teacher/student interaction, no counseling or class room instruction in individual subjects. God forbid you are Bilingual or your parent is because they can not communicate with you. No classroom instruction is provided in Bilingual as well. This is a problem since d131 teaches about 50% of their classes in Spanish. So why would you use a program that can't service the students. D129 is no different both districts continue to expel Bilingual students and put them on the streets because they have no place to send them.
In the case of the boy who has shoot he had not been at Alternative School that week. Nobody even checked. At East Aurora if you do not come to school a automated phone call is made to your home in Spanish. It is my understanding the parents did not even understand he was not in school.
Ask the School Districts the Graduation rate of kids going through that program it has about a 100% drop-out rate.
This is what happens when career politicians get involved in people lives. This child could have been saved. Leisner, Gillespie, Shoemaker, and the administration of both districts have this boys blood on their hands.
Nobody covered anything up. You are all fishing for nothing.
ReplyDelete5th Request
ReplyDeleteRules please - What don't you like about this post? Any explanation.
It's a very pretty post, and smells nice.
ReplyDeleteOh--and all the words are spelled correctly.
Well, my guess is the new "administrator" will delete it soon.
ReplyDeleteI guess that's what happens, you become an administrator and power goes to your head.
About what 9:54 posted, from the other blog--
ReplyDeleteHow on earth could this shooting not have happened, under the circumstances? The kid was brandishing a weapon at Officer Rodriguez AND Rodriguez's 13-year-old daughter. The officer just did what he had to do, as a policeman and as a father.
Tragic, yes. Unavoidable, no.
I don't understand why everybody thinks there is a big cover up - If the kid wouldn't drop his gun, then he needed to be stopped. He acted like an adult, and got treated like one. One less person in jail
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying that the officer was not justified in shooting the teen. It may of happened just as it was reported.
ReplyDeleteHowever, Aurora is no different than Chicago or any other city. A cop is always justified unless there is video of the incident showing otherwise.
No city wants a lawsuit because of an officer involved shooting. That's why all details are withheld for so long.
I can't imagine how traumatic this must be for the kids family.
Where was the parents in all of this. Why did they not know that their child was where he was at? No matter what anyone says, parents know when their child is not doing right. They may not know the extent of it, but they know. Using the disquise that any child is of certain ethnic groups in not exceptable. That is just passing the buck on to society. All parents need to step up and face their responsibilities and do their job.
ReplyDeleteWere the parents informed by the school district or Urban League that their son was not in school that day???
ReplyDeleteNo announcements from King Clayton on after-school programs being canceled like other districts.
ReplyDeleteOf course maybe the snow will not stick in d131 not else does
They'll probably have a late-start day tomorrow instead of canceling school, if at all possible.
ReplyDeleteDr. Roberts wants to avoid having to make up a day in June, when both students & staff would rather be elsewhere, I'm sure!
Some things don't change over the years:
ReplyDeleteKids LOVE snow days.
Parents--not "snow" much.
Yes, there is an announcement that all after school activities have been canceled. Open your eyes. Oh, I'm sorry, it wasn't posted on "this blog" yet. Well here you go.
ReplyDeleteTuesday, February 01, 2011
ALL AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS
AND ACTIVITIES CANCELLED FOR TODAY
(Aurora)- Due to the anticipated inclement weather, ALL after-school programs and activities are cancelled for today, Tuesday, February 1, 2011!
We are monitoring weather conditions and decisions for tomorrow will be made accordingly. Updated information will be posted in the Message Center at www.d131.org.
There, now EVERYBODY, has access to the news.
6th Request
ReplyDeleteJust because you didn't delete my "5th Request" post doesn't mean you have answered my question.
I am still wondering what ALL of your new rules are. We obviously can't post anything that you don't like. So I would like to know what is acceptable and what is not.
You come in late.
ReplyDeleteI'm staying inside safe and warm until the storm passes (predicted at about 3:00PM Wednesday). I will then go outside and begin digging myself and my neighbors out. I am sure it will take all of Wednesday (at least) if not Thursday also to get unburied.
If Jerome can get to Aurora from Joliet or wherever he is living, he can teach the classes.
Some roads are already bad out there from the blowing and drifting snow ex specially on roads in the country or nothing to block the wind.
ReplyDelete34.7 inches of snow now predicted for Aurora!!!
ReplyDeleteNo school for a while!!!
Hey Hey, Jerome closed schools for tomorrow. It only took him five hours after the West Side and Indian Prarie declared, for him to make up his mind.
ReplyDeleteI guess it's appropriate. The superintendent is slow and the kids are slow.
Yeah, because calling off school is a race. If he would have done it earlier, you would have yelled at him for that too.
ReplyDeleteProbably.
ReplyDeleteAfter all the poor choices that he has made over the past few years, it's easiest to assume he is an idiot and go from there.
No one would be more pleased than I if Jerome found a brain and used it but I'm not hopeful.
The other Superintendents are fast with the money. Jerome is careful and makes choices for excellence.
ReplyDeleteJust got an automated call from Mayor Weisner, saying that everyone should stay inside (duh!), not park cars in the streets, and listing the school districts that will be closed tomorrow. He mentioned 204, 308, 129--everybody except 131. At the end of his message he said that for information about District 131 we should go to the district website.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it the Board that makes the decisions of how to spend the money?
ReplyDeleteWell, probably when he recorded the message D131 had not announced yet. What is the big deal. Again, everything the district does is wrong in your eyes. You really need to get over it.
ReplyDeleteWhat "choices for excellence" has Jerome made?
ReplyDeleteFor $230,000 a year, he should have a very long list.
There have been long lists of poor choices by the district.
Let's hear the long list of "choices for excellence" if you can.
Roberts is the one that messed up about that referendum. We did not need it. Noticed that the district is not stopping it and still taking out the money in taxes. Guess they need more money for the admins and making new admins postions. It certainly is not going for the students for things like new text books, etc. and not the teachers.
ReplyDeleteSome business made the decision to close mid morning today because they knew that things where going to be bad and didn't want employees to take the risk of coming to work. They value their employees. With the way this storm is going with the blowing snow it will be hard for the workers that have to take care of roads, parking lots and sidewalks to keep up with the snow for the safety of the people that have to use them. Then with as cold as it is going to get to keep buildings that are big warm is really costly. When the staff of district left today they should of been told to stay home tomorrow so they could get all the buildings ready for classes when the weather was better. I don't think this district has closed for anything this year and I believe they have days that they can close and not have to make up and even if they don't isn't closing better than people getting hurt to get to work?
ReplyDeleteLooks like the district made the right choice in closing schools tomorrow it is posted on the website.
ReplyDeleteIt's been posted for 4 hours
ReplyDeleteWasn't able to get on the computer until now so I wasn't able to see it until then.
ReplyDeleteThe staff and students should have been released early today (as were many other schools and businesses). The district could have dismissed an hour or two earlier, instead they waited until the storm had already started.
ReplyDeleteA trip that normally takes me twenty minutes took over an hour and a half this afternoon. That was an hour and a half in dangerous weather and on dangerous roads.
If any staff or students were injured today on their way home, it will a direct result of the administrations decision to keep school in session until after the storm began.
Yes, the district did everything wrong again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for always being right blog.
It's not that the blog is right it's that it made sense. Most schools did let students out early. With this district and the parents picking students up causes a traffic jam and by the time they were let out of school is already started snowing and the wind was blowing which for the kids that had to walk home made it rough.
ReplyDeleteAs it has been documented by the administration on many occasions, we have no bus service and there are students who have to walk to and from school. For many of these students, the walk is a few miles long.
ReplyDeleteThe district administrators knowing these facts made the decision to wait to release students until an hour after the blizzard began.
As usual it shows a complete lack of judgement and a complete lack of caring for the safety of our children.
I grow tired of this bs. Nothing will make you people happy. Can you just get move already, to a perfect district.
ReplyDeleteI (like most if not all the administration)already live in a district that is not quite perfect but I can trust that decisions are being made in the best interest of the students. In addition the district is passing the state exams as is evidenced that no schools are on the state watch list.
ReplyDeleteI only work in this district. It is infuriating knowing how much better the district could be with the right leadership
Then be the leadership - Stop bitching. Get your type 75 and work your way up.
ReplyDeleteYou never know, I might already be.
ReplyDeleteWhether you realize it or not, there are administrators in this district who know how incompetent their superior's are at the central office.
Unfortunately, in this district, the only way to be invited up the chain of command is to support the leadership no matter what idiotic schemes they come up with.
But you're not.
ReplyDeleteOf course, you are in a position to know this.
ReplyDeleteYou're an expert on the lives of every anonymous poster on this blog.
Do you honestly believe no administrators have posted on this blog?
Do I care. Get a life.
ReplyDelete
