What lies ahead for Illinois' first school district?

As the old song goes, "the days dwindle down to a precious few"...and here we are at the very end of an eventful year for our district!

An unprecedented endorsement

On November 4th (or before, if you choose to vote early) we all  have an opportunity to use our voice in the ballot box.  Here in America every citizen's vote counts equally:  celebrities, billionaires, sports heroes, teachers, bank tellers, and waitresses each have an equal voice at the polls.

Today this blog is doing something we've never done before:  we're endorsing a candidate for political office.  Specifically, we're urging our community to vote for Pat Quinn for Governor.  We're very concerned about Bruce Rauner's views on unions, tenure, and the minimum wage.  We think Bruce Rauner would be WRONG for our district, and wrong for the state of Illinois.

Managing our district's money

Wouldn't it be nice if there actually were money trees?  Unfortunately in the REAL world, we must prioritize and decide how best to use our limited financial resources.  It's definitely a challenge...are we up to the task?
