Meeting in the middle: the fine art of communication and compromise

Deciding how best to spend our district's money is very challenging. Do we raise teachers' salaries, reduce benefits, lower class sizes? Should taxes be increased? Ideally our School Board will make choices in students' best interests. NOW is the time to let our administration know our opinions and priorities!

Welcome! I hope you find this blog helpful. Whether you are here to gather knowledge about what is going on in District 131, or you are here to ask questions or give an opinion, I ask that you be respectful. We have a very diverse community, on the eastside of Aurora. Our origins, our lifestyles, our income and education levels are of a wide range, as are our opinions. I ask you be considerate of all others. I believe the participants in this blog share one common relationship, to see the children living in 131 receive the best education possible. I hope we can support each other and have sincere dialogue. I am a veteran of the district, I am an alumni of EAHS. My parents were born and raised on the eastside, as was I and my 3 children and most of our family. 4/16/2011 For those new to the blog, I felt I should add this bit of info: As of this year I have a co-administrator since I am unable to monitor the blog regularly. This person and their spouse live and work in the Aurora community and their children attended EA schools. Thank you for stopping in. Let the blogging begin ! :o)
