7:27am you are clueless, ignorant, and or a moron for believing that statement. ha ha ha

Did you ride motorcycles and listen to Santana?.

Why did residents have Johnson talk to them about their taxes and have the district lawyer with her? Did we pay him for that and what does that have to do with our district. If these people want to know why their taxes are high they need to talk to the Tax Assessor they are willing to let you know why. If these people don't like what they pay then go somewhere else. Her of all people that had her mother lie and get the senior freeze on her tax bill with Annette living with her making well over the $55,000.00 that is the top of what you can make for that.

I believe he recommended the Highway to Hell.

I can't believe that Dr. Roberts resigned at tonight's board meeting. Totally unexpected.

Good riddance though. First right decision that he has made for this district.

10:05 PM-Though I wish your comment were true, it is funny the Beacon did not report it in their story today about the Board meeting.

Shame on you for getting our hopes up.

http://www.battlecreekenquirer.com/article/20130508/NEWS01/305080012/Illinois-principal-turns-down-job-Lakeview-high

The new EAHS principal, Spencer Boyd, apparently had made a verbal agreement to accept a job in Battle Creek, Michigan--but backed out about a week ago and has now been hired in D131.

It's Spencer BYRD - not Boyd - Can't you do anything right.

"Can't you do anything right"

...Well, except for misspelling the last name it looks like everything else 11:59 posted was absolutely, verifiably CORRECT.

:)

Anonymous said...

Well I think misspelling a person's name is a big deal.

Anonymous said...

I agree misspelling names can be a big deal, but it's not remotely the same thing as not getting "anything right"! The FACT is that aside from one two-letter spelling mistake ("Boyd" instead of "Byrd"), everything else in 11:59's comment is correct.

Anonymous said...

So I guess then all you have to do is answer my question. My question was:

"Can't you do anything right?"

The answer to that is "yes"

Anonymous said...

It's too bad Mr. Byrd didn't read this blog -- he would have run for the hills and kept going until he was as far away from this district as possible.

Anonymous said...

But you still screwed up the last name idiot. Proofread.

1:51 p.m., you didn't ask a question, because you didn't use a question mark. 11:59 a.m. made a spelling mistake...YOU made a punctuation mistake!

;)

I fail to see the wisdom in hiring Rev. Spencer Byrd (Yes, apparently he is a Reverend) as the new East High Principal. What experience does the man have? He is coming from Midland High School in Varna, Illinois. The entire school population is 252 students. The demographics there are 246 white students, 6 hispanic students and nothing else, not even one African American student. East High has a larger staff than Midland’s entire population including staff and students. That is an average of 63 students per grade level. Midland HS also has a low income rate much lower than we have.

Here is the kicker. Midland HS is not meeting AYP and they are on the Academic Watch List (Which means they have been failing for at least 4 years). In fact only 58% of the students meet or exceed standards and the trend has been declining there. Their test scores in reading and writing have gone down each of the past 4 years. What exactly is Reverend Byrd bringing to our district? Apparently it is not integrity. The man, just last week accepted a job in Battle Creek Michigan and quickly dumped them when we offered to pay him a higher salary.

Once again, poor decisions by our administration and board and, as always, it will be our students who pay the price.

I was wondering Howe long it would take. This man hasn't even worked a day and the ignorant bashing has already begun.

Anonymous said...

It's also interesting that the test scores at Midland HS are the PSAE test. In 2011, 63% of Midland's students met or exceeded standards, last year only 58% met. the man was probably being driven out of Midland.

The reason that was interesting to me is because Midland HS doesn't take the ISAT test. The man has no experience with it.

Rev. Spencer Byrd has 3 years experience as a principal and that at a school with only 252 students and declining test scores.

Before that he was an athletic director in Belvidere for one year.

Before that, he was athletic director/ap for Round Lake High School.

His education includes Olivet Nazarene University and NorthEastern Illinois University. Definately not top notch schools.

Not exactly a stellar resume for a principal position at a high school with 3500 students and over 300 staff members. In addition, the school is predominantly minority, low income, inner city school with a long record of failing state standards.

Somebody please explain to me what the district expects this man to contribute to the students of District 131.

East High (and District 131) are going to chew Spencer Byrd up and spit him out. I predict two years tops, probably only one.

But 9:31 in his entire time at EAHS he hasn't done a single thing right!

Or wrong.

You forget: never let facts or truth get in the way of a chance to take a cheap shot at someone. Fairness doesn't exist in the world of blogs.

Anonymous said...

Maybe because of this blog that is the best they could get. Rayanne Carlson is a joke she walks around thinking it is funny. Some alumni

Wow 6:30 a.m., such a lot of power for a little blog!

And I love how quoting the facts (from a source like a newspaper) about someone our district is spending +100K on, equals "taking a cheap shot". Just shows how desperate some people are to discredit the TRUTH.

In the above noted article it states "Once the board chooses a search firm, Turza said, that firm would send a survey to school staff, parents and community members to determine the desired qualities for East Aurora’s next superintendent."
They did this last time. Using a firm who employed an alumni of EAHS. There was a meeting of community, parents, etc. to decide the qualities. People were not chosen who to survey but rather those who wanted to give input attended the meeting. The Beacon reported the group basically wanted someone who could "walk on water." The Board chose Roberts?!?!

Well I hope Rev. Byrd does read this particular blog thread, especially the discussion about the new bell schedule. He can watch the YouTube of our middle-school band kids performing at the Fine Arts Festival, and then see how many of them are unable to continue band at the high school level because of the 6-period schedule. I'm sure he'll get an earful from parents of EAHS choir & drama students too, once registration starts in August.

Welcome to District 131, Rev. Byrd!
