Mary Fultz should worry about her own children her current child attend Alternative School 204 who does that make her a resident of the East side or is she scamming the hard working residents of 204. This is the same women who never held down a job and lived her life on welfare some role model for the kids.

Huh?

She doesn't even know the School Board's address; the Service Center is on Fifth Street.

This woman is absolutely CLUELESS.

Maybe it is another address for her. I think she is up to about 5 or 6 addresses now

She is referring to her address she says it in the letter. She doesn't even put a street address what part of having a legit address on the East Side doesn't she understand.

My resume, which is enclosed, contains additional information on my experience and skills. I can be reached anytime via my cell phone, 331-575-4630 or the above listed street address, P. O. box or email address.

She needs to give it up if she can't understand what it takes to run for an office she doesn't need run and don't give me One voice One Vote if you don't have the qualifications then that doesn't apply.

I agree with August 7 , 2011 1:17. How dare Hull pay taxes year after year in d131 and have the nerve to send his child to our school: what a blood sucking leach. His tuition of at the private school was waved because he was black and poor living on the east side in the ghetto, but I guess that wasn't enough. I know he gets all those property taxes refunded to him because he is black , they get special treatment. He lives in the cheapest area of the district and pays the least. He gets free water from the city after he reports back to the mayor on what goes on. Isn't it enough that he has been mooching of the tax payers for 30 something years at the city. He doesn't even go to work Weisner pays him just because he is black, lazy has its rewards. He gets free gas at the Shell on Farnsworth, free Bagels at Jakes. He has the answers for the ACT so his child gets into Northwestern if Stanford turns them away. The nerve of those free loading blacks.

Just posted on the Beacon-News website:

AURORA — Four months after the April 5 election, the East Aurora School Board will be appointing two members to replace candidates who were winners in that election.

Eight people have applied to fill the empty board seats.

Three candidates who ran for the board in April have applied for board spots: Ignacio Cervantes of 628 High St.; Mary Fultz of 967 Serendipity Drive; and Juan Sifuentes of 1024 Peterson Ave., all of Aurora.

Others who have applied are: Richard Leonard of 1655 Margaret Lane; Marcella McIntyre-Duermit of 1180 Kingsley Lane; Sherrell McKennie of 1143 Lehnertz Circle; and James Pistorius of 1065 Serendipity Drive, all Aurora; and Fernando Chapa of 1330 Park Drive, Montgomery.

One of the two board vacancies came after the July resignation of newly elected member Robb Hill, who blamed time constraints. The other vacancy came when a Kane County judge ruled Fultz was ineligible to serve on the School Board because she was not a registered voter at the time of the April 5 election, as required by state law. Linda Fechner, executive director of the Aurora Election Commission, confirmed Fultz was not eligible to vote in Aurora.

Johnson questions residency

While she said anyone meeting the criteria for a board member was welcome to apply for the open seats, East Aurora School Board President Annette Johnson said Fultz’s residency is still in question.

“We have heard that she is not a resident (of the district),” Johnson said. “She has a child going to (Indian Prairie) District 204 schools. She is the legal guardian of that child.”

Candidates for the School Board must be residents of the district for more than one year prior to the election, according to state rules.

“We do intend to interview her for the board, but this time the board is allowed to pick the people,” she said. “The person who is best qualified for the board is going to be the person who gets picked.”

Johnson said a person who may not have run for the board in previous years may be the one appointed. She said she would favor adding someone to the board who could follow policies and procedures.

Fultz said in an e-mail Monday that she plans to address the Aurora City Council Tuesday night with her concerns about the Aurora Election Commission and her voter registration issues. She could not be reached for further comment.

Continued from previous post:

Wells supports Fultz

Longtime former East Aurora board member Juanita Wells said she is in support of appointing community activist Fultz to the board. Wells served on the East board for 18 years.

“Ms. Fultz turned in a letter of interest to fill HER seat on the board, which she was elected to by 980 votes, receiving the second highest votes from the residents of District 131,” Wells wrote in an e-mail to The Beacon-News.

In the e-mail, Wells wrote that the Fultz case is complicated by East Aurora being located in two different voter jurisdictions, overseen by the Aurora Election Commission and the Kane County clerk’s office.

“I became concerned when the board was advised to vote on the process of taking Ms. Fultz to court without the full board discussing the facts concerning Ms. Fultz’s right to be seated,” Wells wrote.

Wells said she was also concerned that Fultz’s court date was changed from Aug. 17 to July 13.

“In my conversation with Ms. Fultz she was not aware of the date change,” Wells said.

Johnson said that Fultz was properly notified about the court dates and was also served papers stating she needed to file a response to the School Board’s claim within 30 days.

“Our district filed their response,” Johnson said. “She basically lost.”

Although Wells acknowledges there were letters sent to Fultz’s home, her mother’s home and a post office box, she said she wondered why Fultz did not receive those letters.

“I really have to question why District 131 did not request a postal signature proof of delivery,” Wells wrote. “If we are willing to spend $12,000-plus on (the) seat, why didn’t the district spend less than $20 to get a proof of delivery?”

Johnson said the letters were sent first class, according to procedure.

AURORA — Population growth on the city’s East Side has forced School Board President Annette Johnson to get creative lately as she looks for ways to absorb the increasing number of children the district must serve.

Last year, 537 additional children registered with the district, she said. This comes despite the fact that there was no additional real estate built which would pump revenue into the budget.

And this year’s projections could be the same.

“We need to find an equitable solution to lighten the load,” Johnson said Monday.

That means residents could possibly see a referendum up for vote in the next three or four years, she said.

“All of our buildings have had growth, not just a couple of them. Ideally what we would do to save our residents money is find existing property on the East Side to renovate,” Johnson said. “We’re coming up with cost efficient ways to get around this growth.”

Instead of building a new elementary school, middle school or high school, Johnson said the board has discussed finding a building to host the district’s recently created Magnet School program. The building would house students in grades three through eight who have been accepted into the program. Kids would be drawn from each school, thus lightening the load of students on a district-wide level, Johnson said.

Concern also has developed over the transfer of students from Jericho Circle, the West Side public housing complex which is being closed down, Johnson said.

“I don’t know where these kids will end up, and the Aurora Housing Authority won’t give us projections,” she said. “It’s not only Jericho Circle, although everyone is certainly talking about that. We’re also getting housing vouchers coming out of Chicago and Maywood ... it’s an interesting problem.”

The district does have open classrooms, but those rooms are being used to house the district’s preschool students.

Bardwell Elementary is already filled with primary school students and houses no preschool classes. Preschool students who live in the Bardwell area are being transported to Johnson Elementary.

School overcrowding, Johnson said, “is not helping the kids.”

“There’s going to be a point where we need to find more space ... ,” she said. “In three to four years, if we can’t deal with this growth situation or find a vacant building, we could see another referendum, but we’re still working on it.”

I never liked Johnson but I have to admit she does not allow the district to get pushed around. Mary Fultz is a joke and Wells is worst what a racist.

As far as the overcrowding the residents now know Johnson was being
transparent telling us if we don't speak up about are neighborhoods we have ourselves to blame

GOOD JOB JOHNSON

Ms. Johnson is quoted as saying that "...she would favor adding someone to the board who could follow policies and procedures..."

GrEAt idea, Annette!

WOW Finally someone speaking up for the East Aurora residents on over crowding Way to go Johnson

Let us see what happens with Johnson. That Magnet was not suppose to cost this district anything and so far I am not impressed with it. I have been at meetings when the students have given presentations and am not impressed. Nothing against the students, but it does appear that this is just to keep some out of the mainstream and get more individual attention. And this IS costing this district monies. I have been to the meetings when there were reports about the Magnet Academy and it is not impressive as the reports really did not report anything. I still am not impressed with Johnson. She just likes to run the show and get the attention. When anyone might go against her or have questions she does not like, one can see her face get red and she does get mad.

August 8, 2011 6:35 and 52 you have me all wrong. Don't you see the tremendous burden the white man has by having to carry theses free loaders like Hull around. All they do is take take take. The east side would be much better off if people like him and Barrerio would move away from this side of town like the other policeman, firemen, city directors, and anyone else who added confusion. We don't need them. I'm sure his child brought more confusion to a stable situation at the high school. You know those private school kids and how they fake it until they get into our schools then they show their true character and act like a fool. I'm getting sick to my stomach just thinking about him and his kind.

Anonymous said...

Johnson you need to follow procedure first so the others follow. You chose what part of being a Board member you want to follow.

Anonymous said...

What procedures are being broken looks like the Board is addressing the school needs to me

Ever notice how the more compliments about Johnson, the less negativity about everything else in this blog.
Could it be when she is pleased with herself she pats herself on the back, and when she is being criticized, she attacks everyone else. (or it could be the one of her "friends."

My bets are someone from or near Ward one will be appointed.

It is not only about school needs it is about watching the money and they don't. Do you really think pizza is a school supply or the curriculum committee should be getting all those stipends? From the list of bills it looks like some of the administration does quite a bit of traveling are they getting that approved? How about the phone calls that are going around about the candidates between the board members talking about who they want before they interview them. How about making the Superintendent do his job instead of Johnson doing it for him.

What difference does it make if someone new moves into the district in an aviailable unit, or someone from jericho circle moves in with a housing voucher. how would someone from jericho circle moving into a unit create more school enrollment than anyone else moving into the unit?
