For the stars hiding in the shadows

It has been requested of the district, at least a few times, to acknowledge those unsung heroes & those shining stars who hide in the shadow of others. There are many who want to place blame why we don't recognize all these folks. Instead, lets try to shout out praise to those students excelling even when no one is looking, those teachers/ staff who go above and beyond without incentive from pay or recognition from their superiors. Let's start early by giving thanks to those, you know, deserving of a story in the paper or a community award or honored as best example of all around great student.

It is a shame that they let one person control the district for his own benefit.

The messages without a person responding are Clayton's own words. We know this because that is how Twitter works. A real man knows that if he calls women BITCHES, then he is just calling himself a SON OF A BITCH! about 2 hours ago via HootSuite . This is the moral example he is teaching the kids. This is proper language coming from Saint Clayton and the Board/Dr Roberts allows this. He has all this time on his hands and they hire him a assistant. What is the difference between this and the Green case. This is inappropriate contact with students. This is not a lie it is right off Clayton Twitter site using the District link. To say its not part of the District is wrong it is because the site takes you to the EA page and them links Clayton as a follower. I don't see any other District employees was those type of links.

Rudy--

I don't think that most of us consider all Muslims evil, hateful, or terrorists. There are extremists in every religion (including my own, Catholicism) who advocate violence and hatred in God's name.

Unfortunately, Louis Farrakhan (leader of the Nation of Islam) has a long history of hateful rhetoric against Caucasians and Jews. Clayton Muhammad is an admirer of Farrakhan, and holds him up as a hero. I was there when Muhammad came to Dieterich School with a drill team made up of grade-school boys (called "MBK", for "My Brother's Keeper). Part of their rap was that young people could be heroes like Farrakhan.

I am extremely suspicious of anyone who openly admires a "leader" like Farrakhan--and especially someone like Clayton Muhammad, who has influence over so many of our young people in his secret societies. Islam is NOT the issue, Rudy; Farrakhan is!!

I went to the district websight and did go to twitter. Clayton is unbelievable in what he "twitters". That man is so full of himself! He twitters about making 7 figures when he is a superintendant and hiring a driver, he twittes about counseling a young 16 pregnant girl and said it was like the scene from the movie "lean on me", the language used and the conversation that are taking place (sexy, lay down with you...). This i so inappropriate!!!! I never knew what a pompous self-centered man he is!! Our PR man is pormoting himself!!! I can't believe the board allows this, have they loked at what is on the t witter page? This should be discussed at a board meeting, becaus there are things on there that should not be on the district webpage. As a "mentor" (which is what he calls himself), he needs to be a model to or children and not use them to promote himself. Please Board members, go read it for yourself. It is very distrubing~!~~

I don't know what you people are reading.

The Board won't do anything the President of the Board thinks clayton is so wonderful and his group is only one that can save children. I am a little disappointed in Hull since he states he is a church going man that he would approve using the taxpayers money so clayton can do this on the districts dime and it does look Hull got favors for his daughter by doing this, Other districts do have twitter but they do have links that let people follow their partners.

Remember this at re election time of the board members if you don't think this is right and be sure to let people you know that vote about the ones on the board that let this happen.

Anonymous said...

Hull is running for re-election as you will remember he was appointed by the Board. Clayton was involved in that by twisting the Board members arms. Hispanics who applied never had a chance. He now had another friend of his running from Main St by the name of Meeks. He always makes sure he gets enough of his friends on to push his cause or he will wine and dine them.
Lets not forget all the favors he gave Lewis. Her grand-kids are featured at assemblies like Red & Black and District fliers. This plays to Lewis's ego. Hull's daughter who is not on the honor roll is getting special favors over at East and will get a scholarship. My disappointment is Johnson many of us can't figure out what she gained. You would think she would see him as the self promoter he is.

Working with the kids for him is a cause because he is gets a large group out of the schools and makes them listen to his Farrakhan rants. Clayton is a racist and he only uses people like you Rudy to say he is for all kids. Look at the B2M scholars the only Hispanic who are promoted are District 129 or 131 employees children.

We can start by giving Hispanics a voice on the Board. Gonzalez is a District past employee so she is no voice.

I saw Clayton's twitter page. It is full of inappropriate comments. It is exactly the same as his MySpace page was. If you remember correctly, when his MySpace page became controversial, Clayton closed it to public view. From then on, only Clayton's illegal fraternity and sorority members could see it.

I also saw the link to Alexi Giannoulias' page. The first thing you see when you click on it is "Vote for Alexi Giannoulias
on November 2!".

It is illegal for a public school district to promote a particular political candidate or to use any public funds to do so, just as it was illegal for the school district to tell people how to vote on the referendum.

It is amazing how many illegal things this district does and how many of them are directly linked back to Clayton.

Anonymous said...

Your right it is illegal for him to promote a candidate and since people from the district can access through their website it is wrong. What is clayton interviewing this person for?

ClaytonMuhammad
@arnel24 duuuuuuude! what specific info? You said you had questions for me!? I told you to send them! Isn't this suppose to be an INTERVIEW
11 minutes ago via HootSuite in reply to arnel24

Check out West Aurora on twitter they only talk about school activities their District pr person has no link.

Anonymous said...

It's just one more example of Clayton promoting himself and his illegal groups on the district dime.

The administration and board are just as guilty as they allow him to do it.

This is under the followers of Tweeters of EA and do you really think Scott Lee Cohen is a follower of EA? This is a political statement and should no be able to access in a districts website. Most of the Tweets are directed to clayton and this should be removed.

First, a networking site is just that-for networking. You would have to make it similar to an unlisted phone number if you didn't want strangers chiming in. Then that defeats the purpose of the idea of social networking.

When you click on Clayton on the 131 Twitter site, he is just one of many "followers."
Tho I may not agree with many things 131 does, Clayton cannot be accused of wrong doing for being a Follower on Twitter.

I believe district 131 does not have the resources to make our website work like it should for our district families. People who do not know how to properly create pages for district info rely instead to linking whatever they can, to avoid actually setting up their own online information resource pages.

They have had an outside site that has handle EA athletics for years. They have a couple outside sites linked to the alumni. A district employee manages twitter & facebook. What they do with these sites is bare minimum. They post short district blurbs. They don't even change the 131 profile picture to keep it current with notable accomplishments.

Some of you are giving the district PR & webmaster considerable more credit than deserved.

Anonymous said...

Since Clayton oversees the district web site and he oversees Ryan Ford who runs the site, yes he can be accused of wrongdoing.

Where do you think the buck stops? With Clayton as he oversees the district web site? With Jerome Roberts who is the District Superintendent and Clayton's only supervisor or with the Board who allows these two to do all the illegal crap that they have been doing for years?

Anonymous said...

Most of the people that tweeter on there have when you click on there tweet that you need a password to look at there tweets so they are just getting things from the district tweet and not letting everyone see theres. Do you think it is right that they have political candidates on there? They also hired a webmaster to take care of the website so it should be up and running for all.

Anonymous said...

It is easy to access it because he is a follower West blocks the followers because some may have comments that are not the best interest of students. Clayton leave the followers wide open.

It shows however the way Clayton works with students and speaks to them. He is no role model and should be fired

I will wait to see if the Board acts but I can assure Johnson I will report him to the State Board if the Board does nothing.

He glorifies teen pregnancy by comparing it to a movie.

He uses the black slang term bitches.

He allows followers to degrade women.

I know he has done favors for Lewis and Hall but would you allow your teen age daughter or granddaughter to be called a bitch. How about the step son you always talk about Dr Roberts. Is he a Son of a Bitch. Is your grand daughter a bitch. Shame on the Board for allowing kids to be talked about this way.

So who's running for school board. What uneducated morons are going to try to do something. Who on this blog will start to make a difference.

Anonymous said...

The District is still paying several thousand dollars a month to Vision Friendly to update the District web-site including video taping events. Ryan Ford is a unqualified employee buddy of Clayton's.

Just like Tony Martinez who may be a to do a marketing job but has no business working at a school District.

How much more is the Board going to allow with this man. Engaging students in discussions that use swear words. I am sure if this was any other teacher they would be fired. I am sure Roberts has a morality clause in his contract he should be fired along with Clayton is this District had any guts.

When are the parents going to storm the school board meeting and state what they think to the board? This is what has to be done. That reporter does pay attention to who speaks and what they say. This would be something that just really might interest her. I do not want to read it will do no good. At least the parents can try, unless, of course, they just don't care.

Anonymous said...

10:30 p.m., "that reporter" is Stephanie Lulay.

She's a good friend of Clayton's, and has written several flattering articles about Boys II Men.

I doubt that she would say or do anything that would cast a negative light on our district--whether it's true is unimportant.

Someone mentioned the Pied Piper of Hamelin a couple of weeks ago. Now this situation looks like the Aesop fable about "belling the cat". The rats & mice all got together and agreed that it would be a good idea to put a bell around the cat's neck so they would be warned about its approach, but when it came to actually doing it no one stepped up.

And for good reason, too: they feared retribution.

How much of OUR money are we paying the district web administrator to do a shoddy job?

Specifically, the October 18th check register--there is no link, only an icon. In other words, you can't click on it and access any information! This has been the case for at least a week; I thought that it would be corrected by now, so didn't mention it previously, but there's been plenty of time now to fix whatever was the problem.

C'mon, Central Office--do your job!

What most people don't understand even though we elected board members to do the best for the district they have been memorized by the Superintendent and Clayton to do their will not the best of our students. What other district would promote a employees own group and let him that children out of classes because some on the board think he is the only one that can save some of the students. They even hide the fact they think from the public that when they hired a assistant for him it was for the good of the district. If you look how many districts do that? They want you to believe that clayton works 18 hrs plus for the district but we know that isn't true you can see that on the twetter page of the district that is mostly for contacting his boy 2 men. You have to wonder when a superintendent says that having teachers aides has no data on it that they believe a Pr person would need one what value to the education of our students does that bring. We can partner with claytons group but we can't get our class room sizes down which would help with the children learning.

Complaining to the Board will not work. I emailed the Board about facts that happened to with Ryan Boatright. Not one Board member responded to me other than Mr Hull who called be a racist and stated the Board receives many complaints about Clayton, Roberts and Gonzalez and with out signing your name we are ruining Mr Boatrights image.

I wonder if Mr Hull would be so willing to come out in public and hold his boss accountable. The High-school knows rules had been violated just like the hard evidence against Clayton.

They all could not vote for a assistant fast enough. There is plenty of blame to go around. Calling the Board will only give another berating message from Hull.

Anonymous said...

If Boatright was any other race and someone brought up to the board that he was fighting and his ACT scores where not up to what they should be would Hull say that they where a racist? In any race are they doing a student the best they can do when they get in trouble and someone brings it out and maybe wants them to turn them selfs around?

Mr. Hull the problem with Clayton is not that he isn't doing the best for some of the students it is just that the district shouldn't be paying for it. The district shouldn't be acting like he is the only one that can save these children we have many in the district that do help them in different way.

When you sit in your church ask GOD for forgiveness that you throw out that racist word and ask for his forgiveness that you can't see the other side of the coin.

Anonymous said...

No offense 11/8 @ 6:26pm, but do you preview what you post? I had a hard time trying to figure out and understand some of what you posted.

Anyone out there know if there is a way to get Boatwright's ACT score?

Do not blame all of the board. There is one who does try, but does get shut down.

I am disappointed to hear these things aabout Hull as he did appear to be concerned about many things when listening to him at the meetings.

Anonymous said...

I can get his ACT score - But it is none of you GODDAMN BUSINESS.

Anonymous said...

I didn't have a hard time at all understanding what November 8, 2010 6:26 PM meant. In short it said that Clayton runs the district and the Superintendent doesn't have a clue how too.

I really don't care what Boatright's ACT score is but if he is going to be picked for a college than he should have a good score and not lie to people.

Anonymous said...

7:33 Sound like they complained to the Board and got grief from Hull. I wonder what the other Board members said if anything. I have the feeling Hull needed to defend Boatright because he is black.
The Board members that disappoint me the most are Johnson & Lewis .
Lewis certainly knows the problems many of us have had with the District for the past five years. Yet not one of these issues does she address.
Johnson on the other hand can get things done and has moved her own agenda along quickly. She did start a few good programs but never followed up. The mentoring in our District is nowhere. She is very anti teacher and would probably be happy if a computer taught the class.e retired Everyone knows she has Roberts ear but she needs to stop defending him.
Gonzalez is just a joke for a educator she does nothing. I suspect she was one of those bad teachers that survived on tenure. A bigger joke is her friend Trusa who always looks to her for voting advice.
Wells should have retired 10 years ago.
Weaver is just not trust worthy. Now she says she is for more teachers but this year voted every-time against hiring one. For her all her votes are based on if the administration is for something she will vote against it. It does not matter what hire a teacher don't hire a teacher her name should be flip flop.
Hull is self serving and could care less about 92% of the District population. That said he only cares for Afro American kids. His daughter will benefit. You don't move a kid in her Junior year after private school. He always said our schools don't teach religion so why send her now. The scholarship.
All in All this is the sorry state of our Board. People in general are self serving and will not run because this is a unpaid position.

One of my son's classmates at WVHS scored a 36 on his ACT (that's a perfect score). There was a write-up in the local papers about him. My son only scored 34, but he was ranked 14th in his class of 700+, and was state champion in computer technology at SkillsUSA competition.

Both my son and his classmate applied to MIT. Neither was accepted, much less offered a scholarship! We (their parents) joked that they were both too male, middle-class, and Caucasian to qualify. Fortunately, both boys were able to find alternative universities and graduated with honors, so their hard work and academic achievement eventually paid off.

But everyone with a college-bound child knows that there is a quota system involved in university admissions. Affirmative action can be just another term for discrimination based upon race, gender, or family background.

Mr. Hull should be careful who he labels "racist", especially when ACT scores are involved!

what is the scholarship for hull's daughter that people are talking about. because he moved her to a public school she gets a scholarship? or because hes on the board she gets one? can anyone enlighten me?
