East Aurora is top of the bottom ten in attendance rates.
According to the local paper*, per state reports “Out of 153 schools, only nine fell below or failed to match the state attendance average of 93.7 percent -- “ one of those being EAHS. The local paper used attendance rates for 445 schools for 4 years for comparison. East High was in the bottom three of the 445 schools. What has changed in 60 years?
My Grandparents were immigrants. They received no welfare or subsidized housing. Their children received no free or reduced lunch or breakfast at school. They had 10 children who walked to school from Pigeon Hill (Pierce Street) because they could not afford to take the bus which cost a nickel. They rarely missed school. One son had perfect attendance K-12, having never missed a day! He was never acknowledged for that accomplishment.
What's the difference between then & now? What responsibility does the school have in fixing this problem?

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 215 of 215Good for you annee. Get over yourself.
Ok Rayanne and Annee. You win. You are always right. I be you won't be at the breakfast tomorrow, or the band concert on thursday, or the jazz concert the following tuesday. You will continue to hide yourself from the truth. That is your choice.
12:00 p.m., some ADMINISTRATORS in other districts do allow their band directors to choose to participate in those activities that serve the best interests of students. Unfortunately that has NOT been the case in D131! Mr. K was bullied out of his job largely because he followed the wishes and needs of students (and parents), and refused to require the band to play at last-minute-scheduled, school-night basketball games. ADMINISTRATORS then twisted around anything they could think of to use against Mr. K (including using the fact that his wife volunteered her time)--and finally hid behind "no comment, the issue is over".
I hope that the community supports our district's band students (and helps the high school kids with their Disney trip) by going to the pancake breakfast tomorrow. Our kids deserve the support, despite those ADMINISTRATORS who so obviously cared more about supporting a personal vendetta!
12:06 wouldn't know the truth if it bit them on the seat of their pants!
The truth is, Rayanne goes to just about every pancake breakfast. She attends band performances throughout the district (including East High). And if you're correct about 12:00 being Annee, she/he also attends performances (Rush game & parades).
But no, you'd rather make unfounded assumptions. It's what we've come to expect from you!
So K is working Saturday that was always his problem he could not follow orders. He never wanted to work with the poor kids only ones that could pay for lessons. That is the truth. Dee & Rayanne have been spreading lies and have had their own agenda's for years. The only difference is now the new Board members have taught the administration how to fight and feel good about themselves. Rayanne could not take hearing the positive about Dr Roberts so she quit. Dee will not be far behind her.
NEVER a concert. I SAID CONCERT. There is a HUGE difference. Neither one have EVER BEEN TO A CONCERT in HAWKS AUDITORIUM in the LAST 4 and a half years.
The only truth I believe is that the band could not do better than a division three at band contest. This is not judged by those in the Kaisershot camp or the Liska camp (although it's not exactly clear who is really in the Liska camp), it is judged by fair and impartial band directors from the Chicagoland area who did not believe the band deserved an excellent rating. And before the point is even argued, no band ever gets lower than a division three. If a duet showed up to band concert with one playing a kazoo and the other farting into a microphone, they would not receive lower than a division three. A division three is a disgrace to any school.

This is me....Rayanne, not Annie. This is the first I have gotten on in a while. I will be posting a new topic soon. But, I wanted to reply...FYI.
I think if truth were told, I worked the door at one of Liska's first concerts. I helped collect uniforms after football performances a couple times. I am working the pancake breakfast tomorrow, and had bought 4 tickets (even though I won't be using them) and will be donating 2 gift baskets for the event. I am a fan and supporter of team Kaisershot ( I like that term :). But I have continued to be a band booster even without a child in the program or K at the HS.
I know who I am and what I do. Even tho' some here attempt to make me someone else, without knowing me at all. I am the administrator of this blog, but I am not the express-or of all these opinions.
So you use the words I have not been on for awhile. But the last time you for sure had been on was 2-9-10 under the name Rayanne. So are you Veteran Tomcat, Rayanne, Annee, or Anoymous which is it.
You say people make you out to be something your not. Yet you have no problem allowing peoples lives to be attacked. These people like Lisa, Wilson, the Board, the administrators, Sandra, Clayton and Dr Roberts are not what your blog makes them out to be either. You wonder why you lost all of your friends. You wonder why people never treated you with the respect other Board members old and new receive. Look in the mirror. Other people have feelings
I am Veteran Tomcat when I sign in to the blog. If I stop in quickly and don't sign on, I sign MY name-Rayanne.
Maybe I could have been more specific and said I haven't been on for X amount of days, the point was, there had been lots said since I last logged on.
I don't recall saying I was never treated with respect. Nor did I say anything about losing any friends.
It is funny you would bring this up, about people being attacked. I believe you to be the same one who has cast stones at those same people when you attempted to turn me against them. When you were unsuccessful, then you started throwing stones at me.
Beware, I think you may be living in a glass house.
Your family vauled education. Not today's families on the east side. Most of them just want a job. The kids think that comming every once in a while is good enough. West Chicago has an attendance policy that if a student misses 15 days a semester the have an automatic F. East High's administration and board are afraid to do hard policies.
Do you know that Liska only teaches part time and draws a full salary.
johnson and roberts have a thing for each other. check it out.
